Disney has created an Alpine ski resort in its tropical water park at Blizzard Beach. Opened in April of 1995, the story about the creation of Blizzard Beach deals with a freak snowstorm. As the snow melted, designers saw an alligator sliding down the slopes and this gave them the idea of turning the ski jumps and slopes into water rides. Snowcapped Mt. Gushmore is the focal point of the park. Another popular attraction is Teamboat Springs, the world's longest white-water raft ride.
